Photo 101, Day 11: Pop and Colour

My takes on today’s assignment.

Living in the Middle East, outside the cities, the colours of the land and developments seem to blend into one another in a spectrum of desert colours, lit overhead by relentless, blinding sunshine. A bright colour is an instant pop in the blended desert landscape.

Any shade of blue always catches my eye, for me, it’s the Pop colour here.

I did add one Cyprus photograph, taken in January, as the angle and structure against a blue sky seem to me, to make white the dominant colour….

What do you think?

Added tonight: 20.19: Out of my little window tonight I noticed a new light design on one of the towers in Dubai Marina, I can’t resist updating this post as the neon blue lights just pop all over the picture….blue has to be my pop colour!

  1. Hi Vicky, I love the blues that you’ve captured in these photos! I particularity like the blue water truck as it stands out in the surrounding landscape. The blue certainly adds a pop of colour!

  2. The blue seascape really is outstanding! I don’t know what it is, but the blue skies for this time of year really are stark and beautiful! You continue to post some gorgeous photos! 🙂
