The lovely faces of some Sri Lankans I met on my travels around the north coast of this glorious island, also known as Serendipity. The history, beautiful scenery and the people make it an island to love and I remember all of these moments below with such pleasure.Faces tell such a story…
Smiling faces for my camera, fishermen’s wives on the island of Baththalangunduwa….
And the younger generation of women on the island….
A face of Trincomalee, beautifully composed in red….
Facing disaster, the net was tipping the two boats over….
All smiles on their way to work….
Faces at Jaffna…On a bicycle made for three….
Old fisherman on Mannar, impervious to my camera….
Pint Pedro, a young face…finding a starfish for me…..
My seashore helpers….
and the girlies, all these happy faces…
One small pensive face….
and these smiling faces, how could you not laugh with them…..

Every single one of these photos speaks vividly of the person behind the face – they are really beautiful – my favourite is the boy looking out from the back of the bus – pure expression.
