Sliding into June’s challenge a little late this month. There is no essence of summer in the desert, so after a visit home to Cyprus, I can add my summer essence….only the Stephanotis had a fragrance but all of the flowers are indelible to summer in Cyprus….
Red-hot poker….
Soft pink geranium….
The Stephanotis look healthy this year….
Red hibiscus, everywhere…..
Prickly pear flower…
A daisy variation….
Gazania, a perennial favourite, orange and yellows light up the garden….
A red broom….
My agapanthus….my June favourite…
I have never known the name for this tree, small purple flowers and orange balls appear too…so pretty, but drops endlessly….
Such a stunning hibiscus colour…..
Stephanotis, the smell at night is divine….
Hollyhocks in the mountains….
Rose time coming to an end, the intense heat runs the petals….a fading survivor….
Dog-roses in the mountains, too hot lower down for them to survive….
My pink frangipani….first flowers for three years!
Fragile, white, ethereal and nameless….

So exotic! Love the stephanotis (and the scent) and the colours of that last hibiscus and frangipani – like fruit salad. I also like the pale pink geranium, haven’t seen one that colour and I like it very much. You have some lovely flowers in your Cyprus garden Vicky.

Thanks, Jude, it was good to be home and catch them before the summer heat leaves the garden looking sad!
