I love your photo but it did make me cringe a little, as I have a phobia of these dreadful creatures! When I was five we lived in Singapore and my father worked for the pest control unit, and loved insects. He had the crazy idea of keeping one of these in our home, and it lived on a small tree branch on the grille above a door. One day as I was walking through, the mantis fell down and landed in my hair! Much screaming, and a lifelong phobia as a result! Not keen on grasshoppers either….
