What a strange–to me–place to live–all that money and architecture and history, coming out in such beautiful, functional monuments and works of art, amid the plight of the workers used to build and maintain it all, (isn’t that always the case), and in what seems to me, a temperate-climate lover, a most inhospitable environment. You must sometimes feel as though you are at the nexus of civilization.

It is a strange place Kathryn, a city created from nothing, to where it is today…There are up and downsides to it, but for the short time I will be there I’m certainly trying to make the most of living in the environment. There are times when I feel too old for it all!!
