During my recent travels, I visited the Convent of Christ at Tomar in Central Portugal.
Known by art historians as being of the Manueline style, the windows are the most fanciful I have ever been lucky enough to see.
More on the beautiful town of Tomar and its castle and convent at a later date.
For today, just a little tempter….
I’ve only been here once, but it totally blew me away! 🙂

I agree, the Manueline style is a little overblown.

Indeed, and agreed, it’s very OTT, but when you look at the work that went into creating, you can’t help being awed by the carving and devotion to create the style..

Those ARE fancy windows! And I love the poppies. We used to have poppies, but they all died away. 😦

They are so fanciful and amazing to see, such work, such effort, and such an incredible result! The poppies were also just beautiful, a work of nature, more to come, they were blooming everywhere, thanks for your comment Maris, much appreciated…
