Monday Window: 22/5/17, Tomar Manueline window…

During my recent travels, I visited the Convent of Christ at Tomar in Central Portugal.

Known by art historians as being of the Manueline style, the windows are the most fanciful I have ever been lucky enough to see.

More on the beautiful town of Tomar and its castle and convent at a later date.

For today, just a little tempter….

    • Indeed, and agreed, it’s very OTT, but when you look at the work that went into creating, you can’t help being awed by the carving and devotion to create the style..

    • They are so fanciful and amazing to see, such work, such effort, and such an incredible result! The poppies were also just beautiful, a work of nature, more to come, they were blooming everywhere, thanks for your comment Maris, much appreciated…
